Trivia

The Japanese tourists running from the rampaging T-Rex in the San Diego scene (an obvious homage to "Godzilla" movies) are saying in Japanese: "I left Japan to get away from this?!"

The snake that crawls into Dr. Robert Burke's shirt is a milk snake, which are completely harmless to humans. They are often confused with the highly-venomous coral snake due to their nearly-identical color patterns.

As T-rex turns to walk between houses in residential San Diego, he glances at the basketball hoop in the driveway, then makes a distinct dribbling motion with his right arm as he passes behind the house.

The ship that carries the dinosaur to San Diego is called The Venture, which was also the name given to the ship that brought King Kong to New York City in the 1933 film.

When the T-rex bites the traffic signal in San Diego, a street sign on the right edge of the screen reads in part "NO DINOSAURS".

In the novel of "Jurassic Park", the characters of both John Hammond and Ian Malcolm died (though Malcolm returned in the original novel "The Lost World" (1997), explaining that "the doctors did excellent work"). In the film version, however, both characters survived, allowing them to return in this movie.

The gun Roland Tembo wields is a double-barreled rifle chambered in .600 Nitro Express. B. Searcy & Co., of Boron, California custom-made 2 rifles for the film at a total cost of $100,000. Steven Spielberg kept one for his private collection. He has said that he almost never fires it because it hurts his shoulder.

The five islands in Las Cinco Muertes are: Isla Matanceros, Isla Muerte, Isla Sorna, Isla Tacano, and Isla Pena.

Initially, three Mercedes ML-320s were modified for the trip to Isla Sorna. The third SUV, built as a "mobile observatory," is currently on display at the Mercedes-Benz museum in Stuttgart.

The baby stegosaurus Sarah interacts with was named Claire on set.

Steven Spielberg Cameo :  Reflected in the TV broadcasting the CNN story about the return of the dinosaurs, sitting on the couch next to Jeff Goldblum and eating popcorn.

The script called for a scene where the Velociraptors got on board the Venture as it was about to set sail. As chaos ensued, the T-Rex also got loose, and killed everything else aboard. This explains why many of the crew members are dead in places the Rex cannot reach. The scene was never filmed.

Inhabitants of Isla Sorna

Isla Sorna, also called Site B, is one island of the group The Five Deaths. "Isla Sorna" means Scarcasm Island in Spanish. The research station of InGen, where the dinosaurs were created, was located on this island.

Here, the dinosaurs are nurtured and grown until they reach a specific size or age, and are then sent off to the main island, Isla Nublar, to be put into the park.

The inhabitants roamed wild and free when a hurricane destroyed electrical power stations, shutting off the electrical fences, gates, and enclosures of the dinosaurs within them.

Here are some of them featured in the movie, The Lost World : Jurassic Park.

Compsognathus
A compsognathus confronts Cathy Bowman

Referred to as "Compy" in jurassic park III, is a chicken-sized carnivore from the late Jurassic period. In the movie, they are seen, usually travelling in packs. Casually hunting insects and other small animals, they opportunistically scavenge carcasses when given the chance.

Gallimimus
A reference photo that can be seen on Roland's files for the game hunt in the movie.

Gallimimus, meaning "Chicken Mimic", was one of the fastest dinosaurs on isla Nublar and Isla Sorna, they would easily reach a speed of upto 60mp/h. With it's small, toothless, beaked mouth, it was theorized they consumed small insects, small animals, eggs, and maybe even plants.

Mamenchisaurus

An InGen mercenary rides a bike under the Mamenchisaurus

Mamenchisaurus was created by InGen scientists in their compound on Isla Sorna, where they were taken care of by the workers there. These clones had an erect neck but had an absency of a club on the end of their tail like they originally should have. A reason for this was that this was done for safety & security purposes.

Pachycephalosaurus
A juvenile Pachy, caught by the mercenaries.

Pachycephalosaurus has a dstininctive bone dome on their head used for ramming. This has only appeared in The Lost World arc and Jurassic World. In The Lost World, the pachycephalosaurus'es that were encountered in the movie were possibly all juveniles due to their size. They have dark brown and blue markings on their body.

Parasaurolophus
The Parasaurolophus, "Elvis", being subdued by the ranglers.

Parasaurolophus has appeared in all three filsm including the latest installment of the famous trilogy, Jurassic World, even appearing in the novels by Michael Crichton. They usually appear as cameos in the movies, only having a few minutes of screen time. Even having a nickname, "Elvis", during the game hunt in The Lost World Jurassic Park.

Edmontosaurus
The scene from The Lost World where the Edmontosaurus skeleton is.

Though not seen in the movie among the other dinosaurs, a scene in The Lost World where Roland finds the T-rex nest, theres a pile of bones inside with a skull of what seems to be an Edmontosaurus Annectens, a species that didnt have a comb on the heads like other hadrosaurs. It is unknown whether Edmontosaurs were ever on Isla Sorna or even created before Jurassic World.

Pteranodon
A pteranodon on the branch, near the ending of the movie.

Pteranodon was successfully recreated by InGen in the lab stationed on Isla Sorna where they were fed and parented in captivity within the Isla Sorna Aviary.  In the movie, they only appear before the credits momentarily.

Stegosaurus
A stegosaurus herd passing by Ian, Eddie and Nick.
The stegosaurus was green in color, with brown plates exhibiting a paler centre. InGen's cloned version of it were 12 metres long, making it much larger than the actual ones that were measured up to only 10 meters long. This was possibly because they wanted to increase the size to make it more spectacular.

Tyrannosaurus Rex
A Tyrannosaur family.

On Isla Sorna, throughout the movie, there had only been a pair of parent Tyrannosaurs as well as their infant on the island throughout the movie. They can run up to 30mp/h and have a powerful bite, measuring up to 35,000 to 57,000 newtons of force through the back of the teeth

Triceratops
A Triceratops running in the mercenaries camp after being released by Nick.

The species of triceratops cloned in the movie was Triceratops Horridus. As the clones matured, they would develop larger, more elongated frills as well as holes within the frills. As a herd animal, they were very sociable, even adopting juvenilesthat were not from their herd according to journal entries by Dr.Laura Sorkin.

Velociraptor
A Site B variant of Velociraptor.

These were genetically modified and recreated by Dr.Wu using DNA trapped in fossilized mosquitoes like the other dinosaurs. The raptors in the movie appeared differently in color, orange skin and tiger-like stripes and orange eyes, rather than their Isla Nublar counter parts where they were brown in color with ember eyes.
